Automatically accept your own appointments PDF Print E-mail

When you create an appointment for multiple people (a meeting) you'll also get a message in your mailbox. You have to accept this message before the appointment will be definitive. But you are the initiator of the meeting, so why do you need to accept the appointment?

Create a rule in GroupWise and you don't need to accept your own appointments anymore.

This is what you need to do:

  • Go to menu Tools and select Rules.

  • Create a new rule.

  • Give the rule a name (Accept your own appointments).

  • Select as event New Items, and select Received.

  • Select as item type Appointment.

  • Under Define Conditions include an entry where From =(Matches) your name in GroupWise.

  • Set Appointment conflict exist to No.

  • Add an action of type Accept.

  • Determine how the appointment is shown in your calender, for example Busy.
You can always change it to Out of office at a later time.

  • Place some comment in the Comment box.
For example type here you automatically accept this appointment because you are the initiator.

  • Make sure the rule is active.

Beware of the following:
This rule only accept your own appointments which are not in conflict with another appointment. Conflicting appointments will not be accepted and have to be accepted manually.
